PRINT JOURNALISM

Because the pen is mightier than the sword...

Being a journalist is the most natural, basic state for my work. It’s all about spotting the story, creating a natural arc and telling the whole thing in as engaging a way as possible. And then re-editing and downplaying my exuberance.

I have written for so many different types of print media, from FHM to the Sunday Times Style, to News, Veronica and Grazia  - and I love the idea of adapting to them all. I started writing in Vienna in 1999 and the biggest issue was getting used to deadlines and how they aren’t flexible things. I have written in German and English, my bilingual upbringing coming in quite useful there. In terms of topics, I concentrated on culture and in particular enjoyed doing interviews.
